Seminars and Workshops are a great way to improve your skills by learning from THE BEST!

We’re excited to offer you these opportunities at Canine Sports Zone.
– Working spots are for active participants and their dogs.
– Auditors are welcome to take notes and participate by observing and asking questions.  While some auditors do bring their dogs along, auditors are not allowed to work their dogs during the workshop/seminar presentation time.  If an Auditor has brought a dog and would like to work independently with their dogs during breaks, it is allowed as long as it is non-disruptive to the presenter and presentation area.

This or That!

Friday, August 16th

8:00 – 11:30am

 Presented by Melanie Miller

Thinking games to put the fun and clarity in discriminations! This workshop guides the dog to learn to both listen and apply when sometimes it’s one thing, and sometimes it’s something else. All while pushing the handler to provide clear and timely information. This workshop full of fun games is super for international aspirations, gamblers, FAST, or to just guide your team to more clarified discriminations! These thinking games from Melanie help the dog stay successful and therefore motivated to listen and complete discriminations successfully!  The focus will be on the games to provide clarity to build/maintain strong distance, not sequences.

From Shawna regarding This or That:  The use of games to maintain or build clarity for a skill is key to keeping strong skills. This greatly reduces the surprise at a trial when they don’t get something they usually do. Keeping great skills great by playing motivating games in a small space, is the key to keeping the skill reliable. You’re not going to want to miss this!
